Homecoming Hairstyles Ideas

Homecoming season is here — and whether you’re going for glam, romantic, or effortlessly chic, the right hairstyle can tie your whole look together. From soft waves to sleek updos, these trending homecoming hairstyles are easy to recreate and guaranteed to turn heads on the dance floor.

Homecoming Hairstyle Idea #1: Curled High Ponytail with Side Pieces

The curled high ponytail is a timeless favorite for homecoming because it balances glam with youthfulness. Start by curling your hair with a medium barrel iron for soft, bouncy curls. Then, gather your hair high at the crown and secure it with a hair tie. Wrap a small section of hair around the base for a polished finish.
Leave out two delicate face-framing pieces on either side — they soften the look and photograph beautifully under dance lights. You can add subtle sparkle with pearl pins or a rhinestone scrunchie for a little extra homecoming magic ✨ Alternatively, you can go Ariana Grande Style as well with a chic slick back up-do style.

Best for: Strapless or halter dresses — it shows off shoulders and necklines effortlessly.

2. Curled Hair with Waterfall Braid Half Up-Do

This look is perfect for those who want something whimsical yet easy to dance with. Begin by curling your hair into loose spirals, then take small strands from one side and create a waterfall braid — letting pieces fall through for that cascading, fairy-tale effect.
Secure it halfway around the back of your head and blend it with the rest of your curls. The result is a romantic, boho-inspired half up-do that looks stunning with both straight and curly pieces peeking through.

Styling tip: Add baby’s breath or dainty crystal clips in the braid to give off that “enchanted evening” vibe 🌙💫

3. Loose Waves with Volume

If you’re going for the effortless, red-carpet-inspired vibe, loose waves are it. Use a large barrel curling iron and curl away from your face, brushing them out gently with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb for that soft, touchable texture.
Apply a volumizing mousse or dry texture spray at the roots — this is what gives the look that “Hollywood bounce.” It’s a simple yet elegant style that works perfectly for any dress silhouette.

Bonus tip: Part your hair slightly off-center for a modern, lived-in look, or add a few rhinestone clips to one side for a subtle statement.

4. Bun with Side Piece

Classic, chic, and totally timeless — the bun with a side piece is perfect if you want something graceful and dance-proof. Pull your hair into a sleek low or mid bun (you can choose tight and polished or loose and romantic). Then, curl a single face-framing strand on one side to create that soft, feminine touch.
Finish with a lightweight shine spray and secure with bobby pins that match your hair color. This look pairs beautifully with dresses that have intricate backs or high necklines since it keeps the focus on your outfit and accessories.

Optional flair: Add a satin ribbon, a small hair vine, or a gold barrette tucked near the bun for that extra glow.

Soul Beyond the Binary: Destigmatizing Unconventional Gender Identities through a Spiritual Lens

🧵✨ Soul Beyond the Binary

Recently, another epiphany quietly unfolded — perhaps autism, spirituality, and being non-binary are not just overlapping traits, but rather all part of the same energetic thread. 🧵💫
Context on Religious Upbringing

Just some context, as someone who grew up going to a Pentecostal Church, and I have nothing against any religion; however, I think some of the things taught were harmful to the diversity of individuals that exist on earth. And so, there was sometimes a quiet, and sometimes not-so-quiet, assumption that anything tied to the LGBTQ+ community was inherently unholy. I remember how casually people would label those who supported these identities as “lost,” “confused,” “sick,” or even “mentally ill,” as if the very essence of queerness was a threat to holiness, wholeness, or wellness. (Spoiler: it’s not) Looking back, it strikes me how harmful, absurd, and arrogant that mindset truly was, the belief that one could be “holier” simply by conforming to a narrow version of identity.
Gender Basics: Distinguishing between Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

First, it’s important to note that one’s gender identity and sexual orientation are unrelated. Although I’m obviously physically female and heterosexual (que Boy Crazy by Kesha hahah), I also support the LGBTQ+ community and also find myself relating to a nonbinary gender identity on a soul level, and I do believe the two can coexist — because pronouns represent gender identity, NOT sexual orientation; they are not mutually exclusive. They are two distinct and independent aspects of a person’s identity.
Jesus and Gender (or lack thereof) & how it is Irrelevant to the Soul

I’ve been thinking about how Jesus, in his parables and symbolic teachings, expresses himself in both masculine and feminine roles — as seen in the parable of the lost coin, where he is symbolically the woman searching. It hit me… maybe his soul didn’t have a gender at all. Maybe souls don’t.
And if that’s true, then maybe that’s why many individuals feel closer to source when gender is taken out completely. We don’t see the world through rigid binaries. We feel, sense, and perceive outside of roles. We’re often neutral toward gender, not from rebellion, but because it simply feels… irrelevant to the soul. 🌀
I’m realizing that by removing the filter of gender, I feel even more deeply connected to God. Because maybe God is not confined to human ideas of masculine or feminine. Maybe God — like our souls — just is.
And in a world still so obsessed with labels, performance, and categories… maybe this neutral, sensory, soul-led existence is actually closer to Divine truth than we realize.
So maybe the reason so many explore or lean toward being non-binary or gender-fluid isn’t just social. Maybe it’s energetic. Maybe it’s spiritual.
When you take away the lens of gender — when you no longer assign traits as “feminine” or “masculine,” or box souls into roles — what’s left is essence. Energy. Presence. And for many individuals, that’s exactly where we live. Not in societal definitions, but in deeper sensing.
I’m beginning to see that my soul is not confined by the labels the world tries to assign. My soul is expansive. Timeless. Genderless. And maybe yours is too. ✨

Now let’s break this down in four parts with a mix of theology, language, and a touch of mysticism:

🕊️ 1. The Bible never condemns being nonbinary or queer

There’s no verse in the Bible that says being nonbinary or gender-diverse is wrong.
What people often mistake as “proof” against it (like “male and female He created them”) is more about the origins of human life not a rule limiting how gender must exist.
As I mentioned earlier, in Hebrew poetry, opposites like male and female often symbolize the fullness of creation, not a binary restriction.

In other words, Genesis describes what God began and made possiblenot all that God made permissible.

2. The holy reflection of gender diversity

If God is both/and — not either/or — then being gender diverse is not a rebellion against creation, but a reflection of divine complexity.
It’s a way your soul might mirror the wholeness of God rather than being limited by society’s categories.

As one progressive theologian said:

“If God is beyond gender, then every person who embodies both, neither, or something in between, reveals a glimpse of the divine mystery.”

Important Things to Know Before Traveling to the Hawaiian Islands

Important Things To Know Before Traveling To Hawaii

If you’re planning on traveling to Hawaii, there are a few things you should know and prepare for before your journey. Hawaii is known for its stunning beaches and active nightlife, so it’s important to be well-prepared for your trip. Here are some tips to help you get ready for your time in Hawaii, for whatever island you decide to visit.

1. Pack Lightly

Whenever traveling to the Hawaiian islands, visitors almost always bring too much unnecessary clothing. Pack only what you need in order to avoid any excess baggage fees. This will also make it easier to carry around your luggage while you explore the city, as well as give you extra baggage space if planning to return with any goods or souvenirs purchased there.

2. Plan your Itinerary

Vacations often take alot of planning beforehand – which is a good thing. Otherwise, your trip will end up feeling a bit discombobulated. Unless you prefer frantically searching for things to do on google while barely being able to see your screen on the beach. From flights, hotels, transportation, or tours, it is always a good idea to plan ahead. Make sure you can make all your flights in time. Make sure your hotel check in day corresponds with your flight arrival day. Make sure you know how you will transport within the city (Uber? Rental? Walk? Bike?) Make sure to make early reservations for any tours, as they book up quickly. Vacationing may take a lot of planning, but if done correctly, is always worth it!

3. Check the Weather

Make sure to check the weather before you leave and pack clothes accordingly. Yes, Hawaii is known for it’s warm climate. However, Hawaii is also known for it’s subtle but quick changes in whether. Climate also varies during different times of the year. If you’re going during the winter months, pack a light jacket or cardigan to keep warm if it starts to rain or during the evening when it can get a little chilly with the ocean breeze.

4. Be Prepared for the Beach

Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches, so make sure to bring your beach gear including sunscreen, a towel, swimsuit, and flip flops. Double check with your hotel to see if they provide towels – that way you can save some baggage space! Also be aware that tanning beds often are not free and need to be rented out. Bring your own tanning chair if you have the baggage space, or simply purchase one there. Oftentimes though, a towel is sufficient for lounging. If you’re traveling to popular Hawaiian destinations, such as Honolulu, also be prepared for crowded beaches. Places such as Waikiki Beach can get fairly crowded – both on the streets and on the beaches. These populated areas are often full of tourists, locals, houseless people, and sometimes also pigeons. If a crowded beach doesn’t feel like a pleasant experience for you, make sure to research an island and beach that will fit your desires if you’re in search of something more secluded.

5. Make Sure to Have extra Spending Money

Just when you thought you got it all paid for after booking your flight and hotel, you come to Hawaii and realize that you’re still going to be spending more money? Yup! From strolling by all the stores, seeing the enticing ice-cream and cafe’s, to the exotic tour stops that have amazing coffee – trust us when we say that you’ll need some extra spending money. Also make sure to bring some cash – though rare, some vendors only accept cash. But as you should already know, spending money is the name of the game when going on holiday! Just enjoy yourself, right?

With these few tips, you’ll be well-prepared for your trip to Hawaii and have an enjoyable experience during your stay! Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below!

Chic Fall Outfits to Stay Stylish This Season

When fall comes, it’s time to ditch the warm-weather clothes and trade them in for cooler weather-appropriate ensembles. Whether you’re just getting back into the swing of things or it’s been awhile since you dusted off your wardrobe, now’s the time to start planning how you want to look this fall and into the winter months ahead! Here are some chic fall outfits that will help you stay stylish as temperatures start dropping.

1. The Oversized Turtleneck

This season, turtleneck sweaters are a chic and convenient way to stay stylish. They’re also perfect for when you want a little more coverage from the cold because they cover your neck and chest. While turtleneck sweaters were traditionally thought of as being worn by grandpas, fashion has changed over the years and these sweaters are now seen on everyone from the runway models at Fashion Week to celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez. One thing is for sure – turtlenecks are back!

2. The Midi Dress

If you love the midi dress trend, but can’t imagine wearing one during cold weather, there are a few ways to style it during autumn without breaking a sweat. Dress your midi up with leather leggings and boots for a chic-yet-cozy look. Layer with tights or leggings and wear over your favorite sweater for extra warmth. Wear with chunky wedges for an elevated look that will keep you comfortable all day long. Or, wear it during the evening over skinny jeans and add a blazer to dress up the ensemble for date night or girls’ night out.

3. The Cropped Jeans

If you are not familiar with the cropped jean trend, it is just what it sounds like: jeans that fall at or above the ankle. The low-rise cut of these jeans creates a slimmer silhouette, which is perfect for showing off those new killer calf muscles from all that hard work on the elliptical. And don’t worry about not being able to show off your shoe collection because this style plays nice with both heels and flats alike.

4. The puffy vest

Vests are a great way to look stylish this fall season. They can be worn over a top for the office or paired with your favorite jeans and boots for casual wear. Puffy vests can also be worn as an outer layer, adding warmth to any outfit.

5. The Knee-High Boots

The iconic knee-high boots are a wardrobe staple for fall. They’re perfect for transitioning from summer to winter, and they always manage to make an outfit feel chic and polished. Once the cold weather rolls in, there’s nothing like slipping on a pair of knee-high boots to keep your feet warm and dry. Here are some tips on how to style your knee-high boots this fall:

1 – Pair them with skinny jeans or leggings. #2 – Match them with a belted sweater dress or skirt if you’re wearing them out at night. #3 – Layer them over tights with a pair of flats or oxfords if it’s chilly outside.
