Pass the Attitude of Gratitude Please

Gratitude is a powerful thing.

Gratitude is an important part of life, and it has been proven to be one of the most important factors in happiness. Gratitude improves your health and well-being, reduces stress, boosts self-esteem and confidence, and lowers blood pressure. Gratitude is linked to better sleep, less depression, more happiness, less anxiety and depression, improved immune function and more energy.

Gratitude increases your sense of meaning in life because it allows you to see things as blessings instead of problems. It also helps you learn from your mistakes so that you don’t make them again in the future. Gratitude can help you feel grateful for everything around you—you could even go so far as to say “thank you” when someone passes by on the street!

It’s been proven that feeling grateful can actually make you happier, and even increase your physical health. So much so, in fact, that the Mayo Clinic has recommended that people who have gratitude lists should make them more than once per week—or even once per day!

But why do we need to be grateful? Well, for one thing, it helps us feel more connected to others and the world around us. It can also help us find balance in our relationships with others by allowing us to see how much we appreciate those around us. And of course, it can create a sense of purpose and direction in our lives—a feeling that no matter what happens next, there will always be something good waiting around the corner.

However I’m going to be honest with you: I’m not a big fan of gratitude journaling. I think it’s great that people do it, and they’ve found some really amazing ways to make it work for them, but I also think there are better ways to get results. For me, the key to practicing gratitude is making sure you have a clear intention behind whatever you’re doing. If your intention is “I want to be more grateful,” then maybe that’s not the best way to go about it! Instead, try something like: “I will be grateful today because I am healthy.”

If you get into the habit of doing this kind of thing regularly—every day or every week—you’ll start to notice some really cool things happening: You’ll feel more relaxed overall; your relationships with people will improve; your sense of self-worth will grow; and so on.

So instead of focusing on gratitude journaling as some sort of magical cure-all, focus on what matters most in your life: What are the things you care about most? What actions can you take today that will help bring those things into existence?

So next time you’re feeling down about something or someone in your life, try taking a moment to remember all the things you have going for you right now—and then take some time out for yourself! If you want to increase your happiness in life and receive more blessings from others around you then start practicing gratitude everyday.

Free Coffee & Other Amazing Life Hacks

Are you tired of wasting time trying to figure out how to make life easier? Look no further! We’ve compiled a list of nifty life hacks that can make even the most tedious tasks a breeze. From organizing your living space to finding ways to save money, there’s something for everyone on this list. Read on and find out just how much time you can save with these amazing hacks!

Life Hack #1) Free Coffee

Wait what? There’s other ways to get free coffee besides the one at my local car dealership? Yep, specifically Starbucks coffee. All you have to do is sign up for Starbucks (in their app) and then link it with a delta account (also free). This promotion currently in the Starbucks app will give you an extra 150 stars. That’s approximately three Grande’s, which equates to about $30 worth of free Starbucks coffee. Not too bad, right?! The linking bonus also gives you an extra 500 free miles on your delta account. Talk about a good deal.

Life Hack #2) Chill your Wine with Frozen Grapes

When it comes to entertaining, it can often be difficult to get the temperature of your drinks just right. If your white wine is too warm, try adding frozen grapes! Not only do they cool down your drink quickly and efficiently, but they look great as an added decoration too. To make frozen grapes, simply rinse your grapes and spread them out on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Place them in the freezer for 2-3 hours until they’re fully frozen. Once they’re ready, simply toss them into your chilled glass of wine and watch them work their magic. You’ll be enjoying a perfectly chilled glass of wine in no time without the dilution. Amazing hack, if you ask us.

Life Hack #3) Use New Software on an Old Device

Have you ever kept a phone or a computer for so long that it has “expired?” In other words, it is so outdated that you cannot update it’s software because it is not compatible with the new one? A nifty life hack I learned not too long ago – because unfortunately I’ve come across this problem – is that there is an easy fix. The trick is to go to the clock and time settings of the device & change the date to when the software was released, or even date it back more than that. For example, a Mac laptop didn’t allow the user to update their laptop to a newer software. Even after downloading, an error message popped up that it was incompatible. She tried several times and nothing. What the user did was she went into the clock and time settings and set the time back to 2016, which is when that software was released. She then tried downloading and opening the new software onto her Mac & it finally was able to download & process the new software, working just fine. This hack isn’t guaranteed to work on all devices, but it is definitely worth a try!

Life Hack #4) Use Slime to Clean Cracks & Crevices

Slime has become a popular tool for cleaning the cracks and crevices of your car and other places. It’s highly efficient, easy to use, and relatively cheap compared to other cleaning solutions. The unique texture and adhesive quality of slime make it ideal for getting into hard-to-reach areas.

Slime can also be used for other cleaning tasks. For example, it can be used to clean jewelry or even remove bugs from car windshields. The possibilities are endless when it comes to using slime for cleaning. So get creative and find new ways to utilize this powerful tool! Below you can find an example of how it looks. Use this link to see more information and reviews on cleaning slime, or check it out directly above!

Life Hack #5) Repurpose Coffee Creamer Bottles

Are you looking for a fun and creative way to store and dispense snacks for your toddler? Repurpose coffee cream bottles! This is an easy and inexpensive hack that will make snack time so much more fun for you and your little one.

To repurpose a coffee cream bottle, first wash it out and dry it thoroughly. Once the bottle is clean, fill it up with whatever snack your toddler loves the most. Some great options are cheerios, trail mix, or any kind of cereal or dried fruit.

Once the bottle is filled, simply attach the lid. For toddlers, make sure to use the larger-sized lids as they are easier to open. Now your toddler can easily get access to their favorite snacks in a fun and mess-free way!

This nifty life hack also helps you to save money on plastic bags and other disposable packaging materials. Plus, it’s eco-friendly, which is always a plus! So next time you’re stuck thinking of ways to store snacks for your little one, consider repurposing a coffee cream bottle for an easy and cost-effective solution.

These convenient meals can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for days or weeks, making them perfect for taking on-the-go. To assemble a mason jar salad, start with a wide-mouth glass jar, such as a Mason jar. Pour in a dressing of your choice first. This is an easy and efficient way to enjoy a delicious and nutritious salad without having to take out extra bowls or plates.

Life Hack #7) Free Water when Traveling

Are you an avid traveler? Do you want to stay hydrated without spending a fortune on water bottles? Then this life hack is for you!

One of the best life hacks when it comes to travel is getting free water at hotels. If you’re staying at a decent hotel, instead of shelling out money on expensive water bottles, bring your own bottle or hydroflask. You can head over to the fitness center or gym and most of them will have a filter water machine for free.

Not only will you be able to quench your thirst for free, but you’ll also be helping the environment by not having to purchase single-use plastic water bottles. It’s a win-win situation!

So, the next time you travel, don’t forget to bring your own bottle and check out the gym for free filtered water. You’ll be saving both your wallet and the planet.

Important Things to Know Before Traveling to Hawaii

If you’re planning on traveling to Hawaii, there are a few things you should know and prepare for before your journey. Hawaii is known for its stunning beaches and active nightlife, so it’s important to be well-prepared for your trip. Here are some tips to help you get ready for your time in Hawaii, for whatever island you decide to visit.

1. Pack Lightly

Whenever traveling to the Hawaiian islands, visitors almost always bring too much unnecessary clothing. Pack only what you need in order to avoid any excess baggage fees. This will also make it easier to carry around your luggage while you explore the city, as well as give you extra baggage space if planning to return with any goods or souvenirs purchased there.

2. Plan your Itinerary

Vacations often take alot of planning beforehand – which is a good thing. Otherwise, your trip will end up feeling a bit discombobulated. Unless you prefer frantically searching for things to do on google while barely being able to see your screen on the beach. From flights, hotels, transportation, or tours, it is always a good idea to plan ahead. Make sure you can make all your flights in time. Make sure your hotel check in day corresponds with your flight arrival day. Make sure you know how you will transport within the city (Uber? Rental? Walk? Bike?) Make sure to make early reservations for any tours, as they book up quickly. Vacationing may take a lot of planning, but if done correctly, is always worth it!

3. Check the Whether

Make sure to check the weather before you leave and pack clothes accordingly. Yes, Hawaii is known for it’s warm climate. However, Hawaii is also known for it’s subtle but quick changes in whether. Climate also varies during different times of the year. If you’re going during the winter months, pack a light jacket or cardigan to keep warm if it starts to rain or during the evening when it can get a little chilly with the ocean breeze.

4. Be Prepared for the Beach

Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches, so make sure to bring your beach gear including sunscreen, a towel, swimsuit, and flip flops. Double check with your hotel to see if they provide towels – that way you can save some baggage space! Also be aware that tanning beds often are not free and need to be rented out. Bring your own tanning chair if you have the baggage space, or simply purchase one there. Oftentimes though, a towel is sufficient for lounging. If you’re traveling to popular Hawaiian destinations, such as Honolulu, also be prepared for crowded beaches. Places such as Waikiki Beach can get fairly crowded – both on the streets and on the beaches. These populated areas are often full of tourists, locals, houseless people, and sometimes also pigeons. If a crowded beach doesn’t feel like a pleasant experience for you, make sure to research an island and beach that will fit your desires if you’re in search of something more secluded.

5. Make Sure to Have extra Spending Money

Just when you thought you got it all paid for after booking your flight and hotel, you come to Hawaii and realize that you’re still going to be spending more money? Yup! From strolling by all the stores, seeing the enticing ice-cream and cafe’s, to the exotic tour stops that have amazing coffee – trust us when we say that you’ll need some extra spending money. Also make sure to bring some cash – though rare, some vendors only accept cash. But as you should already know, spending money is the name of the game when going on holiday! Just enjoy yourself, right?

With these few tips, you’ll be well-prepared for your trip to Hawaii and have an enjoyable experience during your stay! Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below!

Chic Fall Outfits to Stay Stylish This Season

When fall comes, it’s time to ditch the warm-weather clothes and trade them in for cooler weather-appropriate ensembles. Whether you’re just getting back into the swing of things or it’s been awhile since you dusted off your wardrobe, now’s the time to start planning how you want to look this fall and into the winter months ahead! Here are some chic fall outfits that will help you stay stylish as temperatures start dropping.

1. The Oversized Turtleneck

This season, turtleneck sweaters are a chic and convenient way to stay stylish. They’re also perfect for when you want a little more coverage from the cold because they cover your neck and chest. While turtleneck sweaters were traditionally thought of as being worn by grandpas, fashion has changed over the years and these sweaters are now seen on everyone from the runway models at Fashion Week to celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez. One thing is for sure – turtlenecks are back!

2. The Midi Dress

If you love the midi dress trend, but can’t imagine wearing one during cold weather, there are a few ways to style it during autumn without breaking a sweat. Dress your midi up with leather leggings and boots for a chic-yet-cozy look. Layer with tights or leggings and wear over your favorite sweater for extra warmth. Wear with chunky wedges for an elevated look that will keep you comfortable all day long. Or, wear it during the evening over skinny jeans and add a blazer to dress up the ensemble for date night or girls’ night out.

3. The Cropped Jeans

If you are not familiar with the cropped jean trend, it is just what it sounds like: jeans that fall at or above the ankle. The low-rise cut of these jeans creates a slimmer silhouette, which is perfect for showing off those new killer calf muscles from all that hard work on the elliptical. And don’t worry about not being able to show off your shoe collection because this style plays nice with both heels and flats alike.

4. The puffy vest

Vests are a great way to look stylish this fall season. They can be worn over a top for the office or paired with your favorite jeans and boots for casual wear. Puffy vests can also be worn as an outer layer, adding warmth to any outfit.

5. The Knee-High Boots

The iconic knee-high boots are a wardrobe staple for fall. They’re perfect for transitioning from summer to winter, and they always manage to make an outfit feel chic and polished. Once the cold weather rolls in, there’s nothing like slipping on a pair of knee-high boots to keep your feet warm and dry. Here are some tips on how to style your knee-high boots this fall:

1 – Pair them with skinny jeans or leggings. #2 – Match them with a belted sweater dress or skirt if you’re wearing them out at night. #3 – Layer them over tights with a pair of flats or oxfords if it’s chilly outside.

Which one of these stylish fall outfits will you wear this fall? Let us know in the comments below!

How to Thrive While Being Frugal

Have you ever had that mini debate in your head about whether to live for the moment and enjoy the present or whether to prepare for your future? What if we didn’t have to choose? I think we have all had these kinds of thoughts. Frugal Living is just another way of saying organized living – and that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Frugality is often associated with simplicity. Because it is. Simplicity in physical, mental, spiritual and financial wellbeing. So the real question is how do we live frugal without giving up on our so called wants? It comes down to many things but the main thing is becoming organized and budgeting everything. Budget your money down to the penny. Budget your time down to the minute. Budget your social energy based on your personal energy levels. Budget your time used for workouts. Not many people realize how much time, money and energy is wasted because of the carelessness towards them. Yes, we needn’t take life too seriously all the time with rigid budgets. Always allow room for flexibility. Let’s explore how to be more frugal and organized with our lives!

1. Frugality In Physical Wellness

Physical wellness is a pillar of total wellness. Whether its cardio, lifting weights, practicing your favorite yoga poses, or following along to a dance routine, there is something about letting the energy flow that makes you feel alive. In fact, feeling alive keeps you alive. Sometimes people make physical wellness too complicated, complex or rigid, when in reality, physical wellness can be incorporated into your life seamlessly based on personal goals or energy styles. Some prefer going out to the gym to get out of the house, while others prefer a fun home workout – whatever it is, as long as it works for you than that’s what counts! You don’t have to be a gym rat to have physical wellness! Just make sure to stick to a timeframe and have good form if you do. Oh, and of course, a good playlist.

2. Frugality in Spiritual Wellness

Everyone has their own definition of spirituality. For some, it is the faith-based religion they grew up with and have strongly held beleifs in. For others, it’s a new religion or philosophy they took on later in life. And of course for some it is about interpreting the stars and the universe. Whatever spirituality is for you, you can own it and not be ashamed of it. Spirituality is an inner world that is supposed to dramatically enhance or positively change your outer world – even if it’s just helping you feel peaceful or balanced. Carving out an hour or two every other day towards our spirituality can help one feel much more grounded in life.

3. Frugality in Finances

When it comes to finances, this can be a sensitive topic for some folks. Some put money on a pedestal, thinking it is the most important thing to acquire. Logistically, money is a tool that gives us opportunities to do what we want. The key isn’t making money your master, but rather being a master over money. Sometimes when budgeting is forgotten, money seems to disappear before our eyes. We often forget that money is just like time – we must budget it based on what we value. We must budget it down to the penny. Of course, one can leave room for flexibility, but being frugal with finances means being smart about our budgeting in a way that will help you with your goals.

4. Frugality in Social Wellness

If you’ve ever heard about someone’s social battery running low, that is a very real thing. In short, it means that person allowed their people pleasing tendencies to interfere with their social wellness. Of course, it is commonly understood that introvert’s social batteries tend to run out much more quickly, but it really just depends on each person and where they are at in life, along with personality types. A good method of keeping your “social battery” high is by respecting yourself by not letting it get too low. That means when you feel drained in a social situation or event, give yourself the social boost by taking a break to recharge or just let others know you need to bounce. How you recharge or restore social energy can be totally different than how your friend does, and that’s okay. Just remember your mental health is more important than people pleasing.

Effortlessly Chic Work Attire for Women

Working at an office can have it’s pros and cons. People typically tend to talk negatively about office jobs, but they can actually be quite intriguing, depending on your personality type. In office jobs you can often meet a diverse group of people and create great friends or develope fun working relationships with coworkers because of the close proximity and every-day banter common at these kinds of jobs. However often times, people who are not fond of dressing up to sit at a computer, often complain about such aspects – while others get excited about finding another business casual outfit to feel like a boss babe at work. No? Just Me? Cool Cool. Anyways if that happens to also be you, here are some of the currently trending business casual office outfits that might inspire you on your next shopping spree and/or give you some extra motivation for your current or next office job!

1. A Blazer with a Pantsuit

A blazer with a pantsuit is such a sophisticated look. This type of outfit is great for any and all professional-type jobs such as attorney, state worker, clerk, administrative assistant, etc. You are sure to be taken seriously and professionally when wearing an outfit such as this one. It is a great combo, especially if it is a matching set such as the one above from Shein. If you have an office job, a blazer pantsuit combo is definitely a wardrobe essential!

2. Pencil Skirt Outfit

A pencil skirt outfit is sure to accentuate those curves. Not that it matters at work, but you know it’s always nice to feel confident on the job. What’s better than a confidence boost to boost your productivity, right? There are oh so many options with a pencil skirt. They go well with just about any type of top – blouses, collared shirts, cardigans, longsleeves, or any combination of those. A pencil skirt outfit is a great option for a work outfit – especially for professions that require professional or business – like demeanors. Just don’t forget to accompany a pencil skirt with at least semi – comfortable shoes!

3. Business – Casual Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits are such a simple wardrobe piece, yet they are such an elegant statement. These are perfect for office – wear for whatever office job you have, whether it be on the computer or up and about, or showing clients new real estate. Jumpsuits, of course with the right style, definitely give off the professional vibes you need for your client to take you and your job or business seriously.

4. Button-Up Loose Longsleeves

Button up loose longsleeve shirts are a currently trending wardrobe staple. They are great for work attire, but they are also great for so many other occasions. These loose longsleeves are perfect because they let you breathe with no added extra tightness of a fitted shirt. Not to mention, they make you look effortlessly chic and/or proffesional!

5. White Pants

There are endless options for a white pants outfit. There is something about the color white that makes the pants much more elevated than just regular blue jeans. Fitted or loose white pants are a wonderful option for virtually any office job (unfortunately not retail – as most retail require dark pants). Nonetheless, white pants are a must have, especially if you want variety for you new or current office job!

Which of these chic work outfits are your favorite? Are there any others you think should be on the list? Let us know in the comments below!

Subtle Thought Patterns that are Stumbling Blocks

Sometimes in our everyday lives we can get so used to our every day habits, emotions, diets, etc. that we don’t really stop and question why and where they came from. Do our habits and thinking come from our own source of original thought, or are we influenced somehow to beleive “this is the right way to do it”? A common phrase is, “Well, that’s how I’ve always been taught.” Whether it be how we think, how we stay fit, what foods we eat, what emotions or words we express, or our expectations. Most often, though not with every single aspect, there is at least one area of our life that we do based on traditions – whether it be cultural tradition, societal tradition, or family tradition – that influences the way we do certain things. And so, whether we know it or not, sometimes the traditions may be more detrimental than helpful to us. Let’s explore a few common subtle traditions or thought patterns that are stumbling blocks to knowing the truth about God.

Subtle Stumbling Block #1 – Thinking we can save ourselves

Sometimes, especially for a non-believer, one might say – “Well, whenever I decide to, I can just pull myself up by my bootstraps.” in an effort to give oneself the credit of success and the flexibility and freedom to save one’s self. This is an old phrase basically meaning that one can succeed or elevate themselves without any outside help. The problem with that way of thinking is that it is limited. Yes, we may be able to help ourselves become better to a certain extent, but we cannot ultimately save ourselves from ourselves – we need an outside force. The same can be said about the physical realm, from something as simple as observing Newton’s first law of motion. “Newton’s first law states that if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force. ” So why do we think that the spiritual realm is any different? The spiritual realm has many of the same laws as the physical realm, even if we do not realize it or cannot see it with our own eyes. So let’s stop falling for the cultural lie that we don’t need to be saved or don’t need God’s help because you’ve adopted the common thinking of “well, I’m a good person and that’s all that matters.” That itself is a societal thinking norm that is totally false. Even if you ask people in jail, many of them might even say the same thing. So needless to say, saying “I’m a good person,” is solely based on each person’s own thinking and not based on God’s thinking. For scriptures even say, “My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. ” So let’s make The Word of God and Jesus our point of reference for being saved and for our thoughts, instead of relying on our conscience which is unreliable according to scriptures. Even in the physical realm, ” In Aristotelian mechanics and in ordinary experience, objects that are not being pushed tend to come to rest.” Similarly in the spiritual realm, spirits that are not being pushed (by God) tend to come to rest (die). So let’s not follow the new age religion of self gratification and instead pull ourselves up to rely on Jesus to save us and help us. He is the best counselor for our success and saving.

Stumbling Block #2 – Misunderstanding the goodness of God

Many often question if God is real or if He is a good God because of all the evil things He “allows” to happen. Imagine if someone was watching a baby in a pool drowning and did not use their power to pick them up to save them from drowning. Of course, that is not good. In fact, I’m sure that kind of person would go to jail. Oftentimes, people think of God in a similar way – but it is a misconception. God is not involved in the evil of the world. That is Satan’s work – the prince of the air. So, we know that there is another entity in charge of worldly evil wrong-doing, yet somehow some people still blame God for the evil? The Misconception is that people forget that God is inside of us. He resides within human beings on earth and we must declare his power and presence in order for God to work in that situation. Thus, it is humans that are responsible for any evil that happens or does not happen. We live in a corrupt fallen world that is bound to have evil things happen. Our world is cursed by sin – what does one expect? God resides in heaven, and God also resides within people for helping us on earth. Thus, we cannot blame God for evil. For God is only in the goodness of the earth. He wants goodness, peace, healing and light more than we want it. “Now yes, yes creation sometimes screams a confusing message – fear, pain, grief,. Fire burns, rivers food, winds go hurricane, the earth shudders so hard it levels cities. But you must remember – this was not so in Eden. Mankind fell, surrendering this earth to the evil one. St Paul says that creation groans for the day of its restoration, making it clear that everything is not as it was meant to be. People come to terrible conclusions when they assume that this world is exactly as God intended. (An assumption that has wrought havoc in the sciences.) The earth is broken. Who’s Really Behind Your Favorite Pop Songs?

If you have never heard of Max Martin, you may be surprised as to who he is. In a sense, Max Martin is the powerhouse of pure pop. Wait what? He’s a singer? No, not necessarily. Max Martin is the man behind many of our favorite popular songs. Realizing this the other day made me have that “my whole life is a lie” moment. When listening to popular songs in middle or high school, I was totally thinking that the singer was behind the inspiration and lyrics for the song. Songs like “Shake it off,” and “Teenage Dream” by Taylor Swift, “Roar” by Katy Perry, “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake, and “Since You Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson were all iconic songs many teenage or 20 something females would jam to, including myself. While listening to the song, I felt a relatability to the singer for composing such lyrics that often related to my emotions. I think that is often what makes us fall in love with the singer, right? However, little did I know that someone else, a 46 year old Swedish dude, was behind the inspiration and lyrics of these songs and the singers were simply performing the ideas. Like What?? Realizing this makes us realize that the world is not often what it seems. We often become so infatuated with a certain genre of music or a musician, not knowing that the music is unauthentic and fabricated by someone we don’t relate to at all, and possibly trying to influence a young generation for the benefit of a societal or market demand. In a similar sense, the person behind the franchise lingerie store “Victoria’s Secret,” was created by an old man in Ohio. But that’s a whole other topic for a different day. After knowing that some of our most popular influences are actually not what they seem to be – that is, not transparent or representative of it’s source – we should realize that many other popular influences are also not what they seem. We should proceed with caution and research before so easily conforming to or buying what is “popular.” Ask yourself questions like, Who is behind this product, idea, trend, etc? What are their individual and/or company’s values? Who or what am I supporting when I give in to receiving it or part-taking in the ideologies of the trend? We always always always need to ask ourselves these questions before easily part-taking in trends or hopping on a bandwagon just because it seems cool and everyone else is doing it.

For reference, here are some more popular songs that were actually created/written and produced by Max Martin:

Since You Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson
Teenage Dream – Katy Perry
Can’t Stop The Feeling – Justin Timberlake
I Don’t Care – Ed Sheeran & Justin Timberlake
